Intuidy Technologies builds custom operational systems and AI platforms for industrial, manufacturing, enterprise, and federal contracting clients. Our core infrastructure platform, Vantage, is what our client systems are built on and delivered through.
Our clients don't run on clean data or modern stacks. They run on plant floors, legacy ERPs, spreadsheets, and tribal knowledge. The work is making real operational systems function in those environments.
Forward Deployed Engineers are the people we put in front of the client. You sit with their team, learn how the operation actually works, build the thing — then stay long enough to make sure people use it. This is not a role where requirements arrive in a ticket. You'll be in the plant, in the meeting, and in the code, often in the same day.
### What you'll do
- Deploy and integrate Intuidy platforms and custom solutions inside client environments
- Sit with client teams to gather requirements, document existing workflows, and translate operational needs into working software
- Build and maintain integrations, data pipelines, interfaces, automations, and dashboards on Vantage and AIPI
- Train client personnel, write handoff documentation, and drive adoption after go-live
- Join scoping calls, solution design sessions, demos, and post-deployment reviews alongside our engineering and business development teams
- Escalate early — flag risks, issues, and change requests rather than absorbing them quietly
### How the engagement works
Each client initiative is its own per-engagement contract with its own scope of work, agreed collaboratively before work starts. Work is assigned by an Intuidy manager, tasks carry story point or hour estimates, and all client work is built on Intuidy technology and reviewed by an Intuidy architect before it goes in front of a client.
This is an independent contractor, at-will engagement. It is not employment, and there is no guaranteed volume of work.
### Must have
- Real engineering ability — you can build, integrate, and debug production systems, not just prototype them
- Strong data modeling, API, and system integration skills
- Comfort in operational environments — manufacturing floors, warehouses, rail yards, distribution centers
- Range of communication — you can talk to a plant manager and a CFO in the same week and be useful to both
- Judgment about scope — you flag an overrun before you work through it
- Team orientation — willing to work under an assigned technical lead and collaborate with other FDEs on larger deployments
- Availability to travel to client sites [XX]% of the time
- Your own laptop and development tooling
### Helpful, not required
- Industrial systems experience (ERP, MES, SCADA, WMS, telematics)
- Federal contracting background, or familiarity with CUI and export-control requirements
- Prior consulting, solutions engineering, or forward deployed experience
- Experience deploying AI-assisted workflows where a human still signs off on the output
### What this role is not
- A staffing placement. You work as a representative of Intuidy, not through your own company or agency
- A body-shop hourly gig. The commission structure is real, and FDEs who originate work earn meaningfully more
- A guarantee of employment or equity, though we're growing and conversations happen
## Compensation & What We Provide
- Base rate — $45.00 per hour for approved hours
- Deal participation — 0.5% commission on first-year ARR for deals you materially work on
- Origination — 5% finder's fee on first-year ARR for deals you bring us directly, in addition to your hourly rate
- Travel — flights, fuel, and ground transportation covered
- Per diem — $100/day meal stipend while traveling
- Platform access — free Vantage account under Intuidy credentials, with a monthly token allowance
Discretionary resourcing. We don't issue laptops or software subscriptions by default, but if an engagement creates a specific need, you can request a budget or resource and we'll consider it.
Please note: this is an independent contractor engagement. It does not include health insurance, retirement, paid time off, workers' compensation, or equity. You are responsible for your own taxes and any insurance you choose to carry.
